The Town Council  of Tallulah Falls is charged with providing municipal services and responsible development for the community of Tallulah Falls. The council provides policy direction by adopting rules, regulations and procedures that will best suit the needs of the community. The Council remains accountable and accessible to the residents through their commitment to full, open, and timely communication with the residents.

Our four council members are elected at-large to serve staggered four-year terms in office. Each four-year term expires in a staggered pair so that not all terms expire at the same time.

Our current office holders are:

Mayor pro tem — Jimmy Franklin

Councilperson Franklin was elected to the Council in November 2023 for a four-year term.  Councilperson Franklin was appointed as the Mayor pro tem for 2024 and is responsible for fulfilling the duties of the mayor in the event that the mayor is absent.

Public Safety Councilperson Mike Urpschot

Councilperson Urpschot was elected at a Special Election held on 11/7/2023 to fill the remainder of Councilperson Tilley’s term ending December 2025.  He served on the Planning & Zoning Commission until his swearing-in ceremony on December 14, 2023. Mr. Urpschot is the Public Safety Councilperson for the Town of Tallulah Falls.  He is liaison for the Police and Fire Departments.

Streets Councilperson — Craig Weatherly

Councilperson Weatherly was elected to the Council in November 2019 for a four-year term.  Mr. Weatherly is the Streets and Sidewalks Councilperson for the Town of Tallulah Falls.  He is responsible for overseeing and supervising the operations of the Town’s road maintenance and improvements. He works closely with local and state governments to help ensure funding and compliance with codes and ordinances.

Water Utility Councilperson — Scott Augustine

Councilperson Augustine was elected to the Council in November 2021 for a four-year term.  Councilperson Augustine is the Water Councilperson for the Town of Tallulah Falls. He oversees water related projects for the Town, working closely with the water operations company and the GA EPD to ensure compliance of codes and quality of water.
